ETS a demand\u00e9 \u00e0 un <strong>\u00e9quipe de recherche de l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 de Westminster, dirig\u00e9e par le microbiologiste Keith Redway<\/strong>, d&rsquo;\u00e9tudier la performance hygi\u00e9nique de plusieurs m\u00e9thodes de s\u00e9chage des mains pour tenir compte des d\u00e9veloppements de la technologie et des produits, y compris le s\u00e9cheur par jet d&rsquo;air puls\u00e9\u00a0de nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration r\u00e9cemment introduit, non test\u00e9 dans des \u00e9tudes comparatives ant\u00e9rieures. La m\u00e9thodologie principale utilis\u00e9e dans la pr\u00e9sente \u00e9tude suit celle utilis\u00e9e dans les pr\u00e9c\u00e9dentes \u00e9tudes de l&rsquo;universit\u00e9 de Westminster sur le sujet, depuis 1993.<\/p>\n<p>L&rsquo;\u00e9tude a port\u00e9 sur 3 m\u00e9thodes de s\u00e9chage des mains diff\u00e9rentes et \u00e9tait en 4 parties\u00a0:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Partie A:\u00a0<span style=\"color: #376a94\"><strong>Efficacit\u00e9 de s\u00e9chage<\/strong><\/span>. Bien que le <span style=\"color: #2e688f\"><strong>JAD<\/strong><\/span> fasse mieux que le WAD, il n&rsquo;a pas r\u00e9ussi aussi bien que les essuie-mains \u00a0en papier et n&rsquo;a pas, en moyenne, r\u00e9duit le nombre de bact\u00e9ries sur les mains apr\u00e8s l&rsquo;utilisation, mais l&rsquo;a<span style=\"color: #2e688f\"><strong> augment\u00e9 sur les bouts des doigts de 42\u00a0%<\/strong><\/span>et les\u00a0<span style=\"color: #2e688f\"><strong>paumes de 15\u00a0%<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Partie C\u00a0:\u00a0<span style=\"color: #2e688f\"><strong>Contamination potentielle des autres utilisateurs et de l&rsquo;environnement des sanitaires\/toilettes caus\u00e9e par les essuie-mains en papier, le s\u00e9cheur \u00e0 air chaud et le s\u00e9cheur \u00e0 jet d&rsquo;air. <\/strong><\/span><em>(Dans cette partie de l&rsquo;\u00e9tude les mains de 10 sujets ont \u00e9t\u00e9 artificiellement contamin\u00e9es avec de la suspension de levure. Les sujets ont ensuite s\u00e9ch\u00e9 leurs mains en utilisant une serviette en papier, un s\u00e9cheur \u00e0 air chaud ou un s\u00e9cheur JAD pendant des dur\u00e9es fixes (10 secondes pour une serviette en papier et le JAD ; 20 secondes pour le WAD). Les nombres de bact\u00e9ries moyens par centim\u00e8tre carr\u00e9 se situaient entre 85 et 171 sur les surfaces int\u00e9rieures et les jointures des s\u00e9cheurs et entre 4\u00a0745 et 7\u00a0537 au bas des s\u00e9cheurs.
