Malgr\u00e9 une tendance \u00e0 utiliser des s\u00e8che-mains sophistiqu\u00e9s au cours des derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, il appara\u00eet que les essuie-mains traditionnels \u00e0 usage unique offrent un niveau in\u00e9gal\u00e9 d&rsquo;hygi\u00e8ne lors du s\u00e9chage des mains apr\u00e8s \u00eatre all\u00e9 aux toilettes. L&rsquo;\u00e9tude a \u00e9t\u00e9 men\u00e9e par un des microbiologistes des plus r\u00e9put\u00e9s Keith Redway et a examin\u00e9 le potentiel de contamination microbienne par le s\u00e9chage des mains et les risques potentiels de propagation de microbes dans l&rsquo;air ambiant, en particulier si les mains ne sont pas lav\u00e9es correctement. C&rsquo;est inqui\u00e9tant car cela correspond \u00e0 la hauteur du visage de jeunes enfants qui pourraient \u00eatre debout pr\u00e8s de la s\u00e8che-mains pendant que le parent se s\u00e8che les mains. Ceci fait comprendre que les parents doivent prendre le soin de tenir leurs enfants loin du flux d&rsquo;air direct du s\u00e8che-mains lorsqu&rsquo;ils se trouvent dans les toilettes afin de ne pas les contaminer involontairement.
